🐻 The No-BS Cure to Holiday Burnout

Merry Christmas!

I hope each of you had the chance to take some time off and relax!

It may sound crazy, but most of Go Carpathian’s back-office team didn’t take off any time this week.

Now before you try to cancel me, let me explain.

In Orthodox countries like Serbia, Christmas doesn’t happen until January 7th because they follow the Julian calendar.

And since most of Go Carpathian’s back office lives in Orthodox countries, our recruiting searches kept going, new content got produced, and year-end projects and reporting carried on as normal.

Normal that is, except for the fact that me and my cofounder (as well as anyone celebrating “Latin Christmas” on the 25th is happily spending time with family.

And while we’re in holiday mode, Eastern European teams across hundreds of companies are in full swing doing the same.

So unlike other agencies, where effectively nothing gets done between December 24th and January 3rd, Go Carpathian is able to keep servicing our clients at the highest level without inconveniencing staff that want to celebrate their holidays.

Having staggered holidays isn’t the only advantage from recruiting in Eastern Europe…

Now, some of our staff have to work US hours to communicate with clients, and during onboarding they work US hours just so it’s easier to train and give feedback.

But man is it nice to wake up with the day’s work done.

It feels like we get two work days for every one day our competition gets.
