You’ve probably noticed outbound sales have changed.
Years ago, a $100k U.S. sales rep could pick up the phone, book 15 meetings a month, and call it a great month.
Today, with fewer people answering calls and replying to emails, that same rep might book 3-5 calls each month.
The math is clear: most SDR programs just aren’t profitable paying the same prices they did for talent 10 years ago.
There have been 1000 companies founded since then that promise “signal-based selling” and “inbound led outbound.”
Some of these are really solid and dramatically change the cold-calling math in your favor.
But the easiest fix is right under everyone’s noses…
How to Fix Outbound Without Changing Your Tech Stack
Let’s do some math.
If you were paying 100k to an SDR to take 15 meetings but now that same rep books only 5 meetings per month, to capture the same level of profitability, you would need to find a rep at ⅓ the price to do the work.
In the US, that’s impossible. No one is going to work for 33k/year to do the grind of cold calling.
But In South Africa, you can hire a rep for a $800/month base salary and total earnings of around $2,000 or $3,000 per month after commission.
That’s $12,000 base and $36,000 total pay, annually, exactly one-third the cost of a U.S. rep.
But the best part is that, unlike other “outsourcing” countries with heavy accents, South African cold callers have a pleasant, easy-to-understand accent that American audiences will find interesting and formal.

What’s more, if your old outbound program relied on training inexperienced reps to meet quota, you can now afford much, much more talented professionals for the same price.
The cost savings here are enormous. Without having to train everyone from scratch, you’re ready to allocate budget to driving more efficiencies in the sales org.
(Like maybe some of those new wiz bang signal intent tools.)
This isn’t just theory either.
Just a few weeks ago, a business owner reached out, fed up with expensive SDRs who couldn’t even send basic prospecting emails without endless coaching.
