This Week’s Lean Leverage Tip:
My Favorite Tip for Vetting Overseas Talent?
Unless you want to spend all day in interviews with obviously unqualified candidates, you need a way to vet candidate applications BEFORE you schedule your initial interview.
Enter the 3-minute introduction video.
This part of my vetting process is as simple as it is effective.
1. Create a simple set of instructions for applicants
2. Have them record the video
3. Go through the applications.
What’s great about #3 is that you don’t even have to go through the videos yourself. Get an assistant to judge each video based on how well they followed the instructions you gave in step #1.
Here’s the instructions we use at Go Carpathian if you’re interested.
What you’ll find is that many people aren’t going to take the time to submit the video.
That’s good.
You only want people to apply to the job who have read the job description and have done enough research to understand if they actually want the job.
Too often with overseas talent, we see applicants using a “spray and pray” method to get a job.
Once they actually get to the interview however, they discover the job was different in some way than what they thought they were applyuing for.
Getting on calls with people like that just wastes your time and their time.
Don’t waster your time. Add a video introduction to you process.
If you want my full vetting process for overseas talent, I walk you through the entire thing on my workshop. Register here.
