This Week’s Lean Leverage Tip:
Why isn’t your time worth more than $15/hr

If you’re like most people I talk to, you probably think your time is worth more than $15/hr (which is below the poverty line just FYI.)

You’d point to the great results you get for clients and the big contracts you’ve won.

That’s all well and good, but if your time is worth $50, $100, or even $500 per hour, why are you still doing jobs that you could get someone to do for $15/hr.

There’s so many tasks you can delegate, but by far the biggest mistake I see from business owners is that they refuse to delegate the project manager role.

“no one can do it like me”

“I don’t know where to find someone good”

“It’s really not that much work”

that’s BS.

Especially as you grow, you don’t have time to perform at a high level at sales, management, and fulfillment.

Without knowing it, you’re probably the reason your fulfillment is subpar and your sales aren’t growing as fast as they should.

All because you refuse to let someone else handle the primary operations role: project manager.

What they help with:

  • Following up with open tasks

  • Answering questions from the fulfillment team

  • Communicating with clients

  • Ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures

  • Doing quality assurance on deliverables to clients

  • Making sure the business stays organized

Where to hire them?

  • Romania (most expensive, but tons of ex-Amazon talent)

  • Serbia (solid middle choice)

  • North Macedonia (cheapest, least experienced)

How much should this cost me?
The range can vary depending on the exact job description and how much experience you want

Do you want someone who’s ex-Deloitte or ex-Amazon? You might pay $25/hr+ (Although that person is going to be more of a general manager or operations director than a project manager.)

Want someone solid who knows how to get things done? About $15/hr

Someone less experienced but reliable? As low as $12/hr
